Faroe Islands

I joined Skarpi’s Arctic Exposures photo tour of the Faroe Islands in May of 2019. The weather was unpredictable and the winds at times were so intense, it was something I’ve never experienced in my lifetime. On the island of Mykines, I literally had trouble standing due to high winds. I thought winds were intense in Iceland, but Mykines easily took first place. The tripod was useless for the most part, and I shot a lot of my images hand held. I increased the ISO so that I could increase the shutter speed, otherwise, nothing would have been in focus. I became obsessed with the turfed roof black houses since it was something you don’t see in the United States, and photographed them using different lenses varying my point of view. The most enjoyable part of the trip was of course the people in our group. I never laughed so hard in my life. It truly was one of the most memorable photo tours I’ve taken. Below is a video displaying some of my favorite images from the trip.
