Victorian Halloween

I love looking at old black and white photos from the Victorian era which gave me the idea for my Halloween shoot 2 weeks ago. There is a subtle creepiness to those old photos and that’s what I wanted to emulate. Sisters Ireland and Roan were the perfect choice for creating these images. Ireland wore a dark green velvet dress sewn by Dress Art Mystery (Etsy). This dress was designed similar to the dress worn by Jessica Chastain’s character in the horror film, Crimson Peak. For Roan, I collected various authentic 1880 pieces, and the fabulous creepy doll was created by Day of the Dollies (Etsy). Below are my favorite images from the shoot. The sepia toned images are subtle in their hidden wickedness and the colored images reveal the evil fully. These images tell a story:

A Tale of Two Sisters

A mother and father found hacked in their home,

Two sisters remain to survive on their own,

The youngest beguiles with her innocent mask,

To lure the next victim for the oldest to axe.
